I was just let go after 25 years, just to old. They had changed my job so that it was impossible for me to learn all the new computer programs. So, out I went. I live in Michigan and was wondering how long I can collect unemployment?

26 weeks.
But Michigan’s economy is so suck-o-riffic, and with your age (assuming you’re over 50), you probably can’t afford to NOT start job hunting from week one. Older workers just find it harder to get hired.
I’d also suggest, you see if you can get some free training through the unemployment office. If your skills are obsolete, and you can’t/won’t work with a computer, you won’t be hirable for anything except minimum wage jobs.
